Certified Crane Inspection and Non-Destructive Test

Proud of being the only local engineering firm in the Yukon that offers Certified Crane Inspection Services, RGA Engineering Ltd started supporting local businesses in February 2015.

We identified a need locally for crane inspections, which were previously performed by companies located out side the territory. Local companies scheduled their inspections according to the inspection company’s program, which visited the Yukon once or twice a year to inspect all the equipment around the territory over a period of one to two weeks.

Our service provides flexible scheduling for our clients. Local companies are no longer required to pay to bring Crane Inspections Services from other regions of Canada.

RGA Engineering Ltd offers the most comprehensive inspection and testing services for all makes of cranes and lifting equipment. Our inspections will help your business stay in compliance with CSA Standards and local regulations. Performing routine inspections will ensure your cranes operate as safely and productively as possible. We provide our customers with all of the necessary types of CSA Standards inspections that are required. Our technicians are knowledgeable, experienced and our inspection work is performed by CMAA Certified Inspectors under the direction of qualified professional engineers.

Our inspectors will assess the condition of your equipment through comprehensive visual inspection, non-destructive testing, review of service and maintenance logs, functional testing and load/stablity testing where required by the manufacturer or Safety Code.

We provide detailed inspection reports indicating all items that have been inspected. All detected deficiencies, with corrective actions, are provided in the reports.

Engineer-sealed Certificates of Inspection are provided for all annual crane inspections. We have engineers registered in the Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alberta.

In the event that structural damage is identified, we have CWB certified engineering assistance readily available to advise on required remedial actions. We also have close working relationships with several companies who can perform CSA W59 certified welding repairs.

Our annual inspection and preventative maintenance programs are customized to your corporate and regulatory requirements. These programs will assist you in optimizing the use of your lifting equipment, thereby reducing costly equipment downtime and emergency repairs and breakdowns.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is used to detect flaws, measure dimensions and assess material characteristics, has become a primary tool in addressing the predictions of component performance and remaining service life.
The NDT approach to materials testing is non-destructive in that each inspected item is expected to be placed in service. This is in stark contrast to the destructive methods of materials evaluation where sacrificial specimens are required.
We provide Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) Standard 48.9712 to meet the quality solutions you require.
